Troy Seiler

Director of Compliance

Troy joined Alphastar in January 2013 as part of the Compliance team. Troy has a comprehensive background in the financial industry and provides compliance insight into the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and other federal and state securities laws in support of the culture of compliance within the firm.

Troy’s experience includes the regulatory environments of the SEC and FINRA and his professional background spans a broad range of trading, operations, and compliance while working for both small and larger companies in the securities industry. Troy received his undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University, in PA.

Brooks Riley

Investment Advisor Consultant

Brooks is a member of Alphastar’s sales & marketing teams where his primary responsibility is overseeing the Pathways new advisor training program. He works to prospect, on-board, and coach newly licensed investment advisors to ensure that they are able to efficiently and properly build a productive advisory business. He brings 8+ years of sales experience in the investment management industry to the Alphastar team.

Brooks attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Investments. He then moved to New York City to begin his career as a financial consultant with a mid-size broker/dealer and investment bank. After 3 years in New York he moved to the firm’s San Francisco office to head up a program to recruit and mentor new broker trainees as well as manage a book of high net worth clients. Brooks has since returned to his hometown of Davidson, NC and enjoys playing golf, soccer, and ice hockey in his spare time.

Bob Drury, CFA, CFP
Financial Planning Consultant

Bob manages Alphastar’s Financial Planning Desk and is responsible for supporting advisors by creating comprehensive financial plans based on advisor’s specifications and financial planning software. After constructing a plan, Bob works directly with the advisor to discuss the case, make necessary alterations, and as a point of sale resource for the presentation. Bob is a resource for enhancing relationships, building confidence, supplying credibility, and ultimately, better servicing clients.

Bob has a Bachelor of Science in Communications, with an International Business minor from Appalachian State University. He obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2018 and the Certified Financial Planner designation in 2008. He has extensive experience in the investment industry including positions at Vanguard as a Financial Planner, on LPL’s bond desk, as a Research Allocation Analyst with Linden Thomas & Co, and as an Annuity principal for MetLife. Prior to his finance career, Bob worked as a news reporter which further developed his communications skills. These skills have been utilized through a variety of education initiatives and presentations as part of the Financial Planning Desk.

Sean Bandazian

Head Trader

Sean runs Alphastar’s Trading Desk and is responsible for the trading and maintenance of Alphastar’s portfolio offerings. He brings 8 years of institutional and retail trading experience to the Alphastar team.

Sean began his career with a proprietary trading firm in New York, before moving to a mid-size Institutional Broker-Dealer. Prior to joining Alphastar, Sean held a leadership role on the trading desk of a large independent Broker-Dealer in the Charlotte area, working primarily with the firms rebalancing and block trading software. In addition to leading the trading team, Sean also spearheads the firms billing and fee management process.

Aaron Kingrey

Associate Trader

Aaron is an Associate Trader on Alphastar’s Trading Desk and is responsible for all cash management as well as assistance in the trading and maintenance of Alphastar’s portfolio offerings. He brings over 5 years of trading experience to the Alphastar Team.

Aaron began his career with a proprietary trading firm in Raleigh, NC, before creating his own investment firm upon acquiring his Series 3 license. Prior to joining Alphastar, Aaron held a leadership role on the trading desk of a privately managed investment firm in the Charlotte area, working primarily with the firm’s trading and operations. In addition to being an associate on the trading desk, Aaron also collaborates with operations to improve and ensure firm efficiencies.

Ericka Rea

Advisor Services Manager

Ericka oversees the daily administrative operations of the Alphastar home office, including providing Medallion Signature Guarantee stamps when necessary for outgoing annuity transfers for Alphastar Advisors. Ericka heads the onboarding process to fully train and transition all new advisors onto the Alphastar platform. She monitors and maintains Alphastar’s social media marketing platforms, liaises with IT to help develop all technology related projects for the firm, and is also responsible for the planning and logistics of Alphastar’s advisor events.

Ericka received her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While earning her degree, Ericka also worked on campus as the Lead Building Manager for one of the university’s student unions coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the event venue. She spends most of her time with her husband and their little girl, Laken.
